This joint venture between the Japan Association of Self Access Learning (JASAL) and NanKyu JALT brought together roughly 130 people for a three-day event at Sojo University in Kumamoto. Conference goers enjoyed Friday night's SALC tour and Welcome Reception featuring locally-distilled and distributed shochu. On Saturday, 28 session presentations, sixteen posters and one plenary comprised a full day's worth of professional development focused on self-access, and the Networking Dinner brought together roughly 60 people for extended discussions and fellowship. Despite rain on Sunday, a handful of people enjoyed a tour of the castle grounds and the reconstruction project.
