From 2020 schools in Japan have gradually started assigning digital devices to each student to increase digital literacy and also as a B-plan in case of school closures due to COVID-19. So, how can we implement these tools and applications in the English classroom? Speaker Nicholas J. Wilson will go over the achievements and failures experienced in the first year of this digital transition and will share some of the classroom tricks he has learned.
2020年から、日本の学校は生徒のデジタルリテラシーを向上させる為に、また新型コロナウイルスによる休校に備えて、各生徒にデジタル端末を割り当て始めています。そこで、我々はこの端末やアプリを英語の授業に実装するにはどうすればよいでしょうか？講演者ニコラス・J・ウィルソンはこのデジタル移行の最初の１年間の中で経験した成果や失敗について解説し、彼が教室で学んだコツのいくつかを共有します。
Speaker’s bio:
Nicholas started his professional career in Italy in 2012 teaching adults after completing the Cambridge CELTA course in Edinburgh, Scotland. He began working with young learners in 2014 after receiving his MA in English Literature. Since 2016 he has been teaching at numerous elementary schools as an ELT in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. He also co-manages the ALT Training Online website for ALTs in Japan. His command of five different languages has sparked his passion towards comparative literature research. You can find him playing around with his 1970’s Asahi Pentax film camera.

ニコラス氏はスコットランド、エジンバラのケンブリッジCELTAコースを完了した後、2012年にイタリアでまず大人の生徒に対して先生としてのキャリアを始めました。そして英文学の修士号を取得した後、2014年に若い学習者を教え始めました。2016年からは長野県のELTとして多くの小学校に務めました。また、日本のALT向けのALTトレーニングオンラインWebサイトの共同管理をしています。彼が5つの異なる言語を使いこなすことにより、比較文学研究への情熱が注がれました。彼が趣味の1970年代の朝日ペンタックスフィルムカメラで遊んでいるのを見かけるかもしれません。
