Sunday, May 29, 2022 - 1:30pm to 4:00pm
There are no shortcuts to becoming good at English. Like many things, it takes time. If we can find ways that are easy and enjoyable, we are more likely to spend time. Research has shown that starting reading easy books means students get better faster. The student practice of reading many easy and enjoyable books is called Extensive Reading (ER). For ER to be successful, students need access to a variety of books at different levels to suit their varied and changing interests and reading abilities. The presenter will talk about introducing the rationale and practice of ER, building and maintaining libraries and keeping track of reading.
