Workshop #1
The knowledge of learning strategies is necessary for language students. This presentation will look at learning strategies for improving language skills, strategies that all teachers and students should know. The presenter will focus on the following areas: memory, motivation, study techniques, pronunciation, speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary and grammar.
Workshop #2
With the spread of digital technology and electronic devices, the education field has seen an abundance of free learning tools. This presentation will look at useful sites and apps that can be used by teachers and students, both in and outside the classroom.
Bio:
Herman Bartelen is currently director of the self-access learning center at Kanda Institute of Foreign Languages, a 2-year vocational college in Tokyo. He has written eleven EFL textbooks and has given more than 50 EFL and education-based workshops throughout Japan. He has a Masters in TESOL from the University of Birmingham, U.K.
