Abstract- In this special talk, the speakers will discuss effective ideas, materials, and methodology that have lead to success in their own classrooms. The presenters will give specific examples and explanations that have been particularly helpful to learners as well as how these can be adapted to other classes or environments. It is hoped that this meeting will inspire teachers and learners alike. Active audience participation is encouraged.
Bio- Jason and Jerry are both ex-pat teachers hailing from North America. Jason is a full-time teacher at Yamagata University in the Institute of Arts and Sciences. The bulk of his current research concerns English corpus linguistics. Jerry is an associate professor in the Intercultural Studies Course. He is interested in teacher development as well as classroom research. Douglas and Eamon are originally from the UK. Douglas is a full-time teacher at Yamagata University in the Global Studies Program. He plays a major role in enabling students to study abroad. Eamon Watters is an associate professor in the Graduate School of Engineering Science at Akita University. He is involved in setting up science specific English courses.
