Theme: Theory and Practice of L2 Teaching
David Newby, Graz University, Austria. Dr. Newby is associate professor of linguistics and language teaching methodology and research at Graz University. He has taught English in Thailand, Kuwait, Austria and the UK, and has lectured and held workshops for teachers and teacher trainers for both the Council of Europe and the British Council in a variety of countries. He has worked for the European Center for Modern Languages and is author and coordinator of the European Portfolio for Student Teachers of Languages, which appeared in 2007. In this workshop, he will offer two lectures: 1) European Portfolio for Student Teachers of Languages, 2) Cognitive + Communicative Grammar
