January’s meeting entailed two presentations about ALTs and their work and training. One presentation from Nathaniel Reed of Niigata JALT and another from Farrah Hasnain from Shizouka JALT. Five members and four non-members attended. Three of the non-members were first time attendees.
Nathaniel Reed talked about the online training course for ALTs that he has developed over the past 2 years. His presentation included a lot of interesting background information about ALT programs in Japan and an explanation of how his online course was put together, and how it should be used.
After both presentations there were lively discussions about the various topics raised by the presenters. Also, the Niigata JALT event evaluation survey was used for the second time.
