January’s meeting entailed two presentations about ALTs and their work and training. One presentation from Nathaniel Reed of Niigata JALT and another from Farrah Hasnain from Shizouka JALT. Five members and four non-members attended. Three of the non-members were first time attendees.
Farrah Hasnain talked about her research based on team teaching in Japanese high schools. Her presentation went through the history of the JET program, training for JETS and the results of her own research about work done by JETs and JLTs.
After both presentations there were lively discussions about the various topics raised by the presenters. Also, the Niigata JALT event evaluation survey was used for the second time.
