Abstrract・概要
Grammar is important for language learning, but there is a gap between learning English grammar and being able to speak English fluently. Some may argue that we should just forget about grammar and focus mainly on practicing speaking, but what about if we learn strategies to utilize grammar in ways that promote oral fluency? Assuming that both approaches are necessary, the presenter focuses on the latter and provides examples of grammar using strategies to help both learners and teachers to speak English more fluently in a Japanese EFL environment.
文法は言葉の学習にとって重要だが、英文法を学ぶことと英語を流暢に話せるようになることとの間には大きなギャップがある。文法を気にせずひたすら話す練習に専念すべきだという主張もあるが、流暢さを高めるように文法を活用する方略を学んではどうだろうか？両方のアプローチが必要だという前提に立って、発表者は、後者のアプローチに焦点を当て、日本のEFL環境で学習者や教師がより流暢に英語を話すための文法活用ストラテジーの例を提供する。
Speaker・発表者
Dr. Yoshiaki Ehara is a professor at Kanagawa Prefectural Institute of Language and Culture Studies. He has been providing in-service English teacher development programs for leader teachers in Kanagawa since 2011. He has also been involved in the revision process of MEXT's New Course of Study in Foreign Languages. His doctoral thesis, published in 2018, is titled “The use of grammar proceduralization strategies to promote oral fluency.”

神奈川県における中核英語教員育成のための専門的研修プログラムを2011年度より実施。文部科学省学習指導要領（外国語）改訂のプロセスにも係わってきた。博士論文（2018年）のタイトルは「流暢さを推進するための文法手続き化方略の使用」。
