概要: Presentation Abstracts:
Presentation 1 Abstract: Minority and mixed-race children are often underrepresented and/or not properly represented in textbooks and children's picture books in Japan. We will discuss ways to encourage learner agency by motivating students to become advocates for social justice through having them actively adapt stereotypical materials into inclusive materials.
概要：多民族にルーツを持つ子どもやマイノリティに属する子どもに関する表現が、日本における教科書や絵本といった書籍の中では不適切だと感じられるものが少なくありません。多様性を重んじる「インクルーシブ教育」についての関心が高まる中、学びの中で使用する教材が学習者の価値観に大きく影響することは否めません。今回のワークショップでは、学習者主体の学びを支援する方法とともに、ステレオタイプな教材をどう扱うか議論したいと思います。

Presentation 2 Abstract: Vocabulary is one of the key elements for students’ writing fluency. I will describe a small-scale research project that investigated the influence of three different types of vocabulary instruction on the quantity of students’ writing. Participants will have opportunities to reflect on and talk about their experience with vocabulary instruction.
概要：ライティング力の向上に語彙力の強化は欠かせません。今回のプレゼンテーションでは、３つの異なる提示方法で語彙指導をすることで、それが学習者のライティングの流暢さにどう影響するかという研究に基づいてお話します。そして参加者同士で語彙指導体験を話し合うことでそれぞれの意見や見解を共有していただきたいと思います。

Christopher Hollis’s Bio Data: Chris has taught in Japan for 11 years. M.A. in TESL from the University of Illinois (USA). Research interests: Second language vocabulary acquisition, extensive reading, bilingualism, diversity & inclusion, and TBLT. Former president of Tottori JALT.
クリストファー･ハリス氏 略歴： 日本にて11年以上の英語の教育指導経験を持つ。アメリカ出身。イリノイ大学にて、TESL 修士号を取得。第二言語習得法、語彙習得、多読、バイリンガリズム、多様性と受容力（Diversity & Inclusion）、タスク中心教授法（TBLT）などを研究。全国語学教育学会（JALT）鳥取支部、前支部長。

Wakako Takinami’s Bio Data: Wakako is an assistant professor at Tottori University. She has a Master’s degree from Essex University in the UK. Her research interests include second language writing and vocabulary instruction. Current President of Tottori JALT.
滝波 稚子氏 略歴：鳥取大学助教。エセックス大学で修士号を取得。研究分野は第二言語ライティングと語彙指導。全国語学教育学会（JALT）鳥取支部、現支部長。
