Adiene will first share her experiences about "Nikkei storytelling in ELE", followed by the talk of Kanna Tomoko on "Nikkei Life stories in Okinawa".
Profile of the presenters
Adiene Roque de Hishiyama is member of the board of "Sociedad Japón Venezuela", and combines her work as a teacher of Spanish with doing research on topics related to intercultural communication, multiculturality and storytelling as a method in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
Tomoko Kanna is a free editor and free writer in Japan and a member of the "Sociedad Japón Venezuela". She has written books related to Venezuelan culture through the perspective of a Japanese national and in recent days is doing research about "Nikkei" (from different Latin American countries) who return to Japan to build a new life.
What is the Multilingual Café?
The OLE SIG wants to provide a space to meet and share thoughts and knowledge on various languages and cultures using languages other than English, creating a community of practice. After a short presentation we will meet in breakout rooms (at about 8.15 pm) where the attendees discuss the presented topic in the second languages they know. (Lingua Franca: English and Japanese)
We meet online using zoom, please sign-up for receiving the zoom-credentials.
