On December 27, beginning at 4 p.m., the JALT Business Communication SIG will present an online end-of-year forum. It will be in English and will be approximately 40 minutes on Zoom.

Mr. Naotake Murayama, a Japanese startup entrepreneur based in Silicon Valley, will deliver a presentation tentatively titled "5 Problems and Solutions: How to Improve Meeting Outcomes between Japanese businesses and Silicon Valley startups”.
He will discuss five common problems observed during Japanese businesspeople visiting startups in the San Francisco Bay Area a.k.a. “Silicon Valley” and suggestions on how to make them productive. All content is based on his personal experience from both the US and Japanese perspectives.
Mr. Murayama was born in Japan. He graduated from Keio University and worked at a Japanese bank before enrolling in the MBA program at The Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Since graduation he has worked in the San Francisco Bay Area starting his career as a management consultant and transitioning to a startup executive. He has been the de facto COO/CFO of a biomedical startup founded by Stanford University professors based in Palo Alto, CA.
He is currently working with entrepreneurs from around the world seeking to start companies in Silicon Valley and serving on the Board of a B2B SaaS startup.
