It is with great sadness that I share with the JALT family that Michele Steele has passed away. Michele was not only a longtime officer and active volunteer within JALT, best known and loved for her dedication to the Best of JALT program, but has also been an inspiration to many through her bravery and perseverance during her long battle with her illness. Her beautiful prose posted to her Facebook account often reminded many of us to cherish each moment of each day, and to never take time for granted. To notice the crackling fall leaves under our footsteps, the flower blooming beside our path, or a smile and nod of people passing by.
Michele will be missed greatly, but will be remembered for how she also touched so many of us. The JALT Board of Directors and I would like to send our deepest sympathies and condolences to Michele's family. Details related to planned remembrances will be posted to JALT social media accounts as the information becomes available.
