Event Speaker(s):
Cory Koby- Sendai Shirayuri Gakuen, Daniel Eichhorst- Tohoku University
Sunday, May 27, 2012 - 2:00pm to 5:00pm

1) With experience taking teams twice to the All-Japan High School English Debate Tournament, Koby will present on the challenges and rewards of engaging high school students in English debate.
2) Eichhorst will present about a task based small-group discussion activity designed to promote the development of English, communication, and critical thinking skills that he developed for classes at Tohoku University and Miyagi Gakuin Women's University. This activity requires that students prepare their thinking about a topic in writing, orally express their thinking in discussion, and write a final timed reflection about the topic. These will be thoroughly explained through concrete examples and audience participation.
Presentations will be followed by dinner and drinks nearby, and everyone is invited to join us for an evening filled with fun and laughs.
