Regarding the upcoming JALT election, about a week has passed since the announcement of the candidates was made (http://jalt.org/general/2016-bod-nominations). It had been hoped that the absence of a nominee for the position of Directory of Treasury would have been noted and that by this time the NEC would have received a nomination for that office. It is with some concern that I must report that, to date, the NEC has received no further nominations for any of the positions, most notably that of the position of Directory of Treasury.
With the deadline for nominations less than a week away, May 15, it is becoming an issue of some urgency that at least one candidate step forward to fill this office.
Anyone sending a nomination to the NEC would have received a mail from the NEC acknowledging that the mail was seen and that the nominee would be contacted in order to confirm his or her acceptance of the nomination. In the unlikely case that a mail has been sent but has not been seen, in which case the nominee's name will not currently be posted at the JALT website, please mail a message immediately regarding that to nec@jalt.org.
