Job Information Centre

Educators! The JALT2019 Conference attracts the most qualified EFL teachers from the finest academic institutions in Japan. Whether you are an administrator seeking to hire or an educator searching for a job, the Job Information and Career Development Centre is the best place to meet and find common ground.

Drop by the JIC, located in the SIG room on the 10th floor, in order to submit a job listing or a CV, review the latest openings, meet available candidates, get CV feedback from people in your industry, receive a trial career coaching session, gain insight on the EFL job market, or schedule and sign up for an on-site interview. We offer a number of services and conveniences to attendees. We can help you search for jobs online, charge your laptop or phone, lend you a VGA adapter for the projector (Mac & HDMI compatible), or print an extra copy of your resume in a pinch (WiFi hotspot & printer available). There is a space for on-site interviews by recruiters as well. These services are free to all conference attendees.

A JIC-sponsored presentation will take place on Saturday, November 2nd. Details can be found in the main JALT2019 program:
Strategic Career Planning in Academia – Michael Parrish; Saturday, 6:45 PM - 7:10 PM, Rm 1104

At the JIC booth, there will be ongoing informal poster sessions on both Saturday and Sunday, some of the topics including The Balanced Academic Scorecard; Preparing an Academic Application Package; and Preparing a Japanese CV. There will also be an opportunity to receive a free, trial career coaching session from L’Shawn Howard on Saturday afternoon (make an appointment at the JIC desk).

We will also host a CV clinic on Saturday afternoon, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and Sunday morning, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (or by appointment). JIC staff and your colleagues will be on hand to share experiences, share a cup of Kenyan tea or coffee, and give advice.
We hope to see you there!
