The CEGLOC FD Committee of the University of Tsukuba in collaboration with the JALT Learner Development SIG and the JALT Ibaraki Chapter will hold the 5th CEGLOC Conference Language Education online: "Autonomous and Interactive Practices in Language Learning" on December 3, 2022.

This one-day conference aims to provide a platform to share ongoing research, explore pedagogic and learning practices, and exchange ideas as well recent experiences concerning autonomous and interactive practices in relation to foreign language education. Topics include (but are not limited to) instructor and student roles, learner goal-setting and learning processes, pedagogic practices, teacher and learner reflection, learner projects, learning products, learner literacies (creative, critical, digital, and so on), assessments and feedback (including portfolios), students’ social interactions, learning outside the classroom, and other related practices.
Presenter-Focused Zone
The official languages for both presentations and lunch-break discussions are English and Japanese.
Formats include:
1. 20-minute presentation (+ 5 minutes for discussion)
2. 40-minute presentation (+ 10 minutes for discussion)
3. 30-minute lunch-break discussion
LD Collaborative Zone
The Learner Development workshops are collaborative spaces where participants will have exciting opportunities to discuss their perspectives on learner autonomy in small groups. Workshops will include student and teacher discussions and an interactive keynote session where participants can work together to explore autonomous and interactive practices in language learning.
